考paper 4嘅時候，有時會聽唔清楚groupmate嘅發言。但喺當你想要回應佢嘅時候，what can you do？喺咪講一句「pardon？」嚟表示你聽唔清楚佢講嘅嘢呢？今期我哋就嚟俾d tips大家，點樣喺group discussion中禮貌地表示自己聽唔清楚人哋嘅發言！
First of all，用「pardon」回應是不恰當的。在Cambridge dictionary中pardon是一個exclamation（感嘆詞）：其中一個意思是used to politely ask someone to repeat something they have said because you did not hear it。
但同時它還有另一個用法：used to show that someone has said something that offends you。如果在小組討論中，回應（反駁）別人的觀點時說了「pardon？/I beg your pardon」，會顯得你比較sarcastic和aggressive，就是一個扣分位。
1. 如果沒有聽清楚，希望別人再說一遍
Sorry, can you say that again?
不好意思，能再說一次嗎？
Could you repeat that please?
你能重複一下嗎？
2. 如果是聽到了，但對方的意思表達不清晰
I didn’t catch your meaning.
我沒有抓住你的意思。
I’m not sure if I understood your point completely, but my opinion is……
我不確定是不是完全聽懂你的意思，但是我個人的觀點是⋯⋯
3. 如果對方聲音太小/講得太快
Could you speak up a little bit?
可以講大聲一點嗎？
Could you slow down a little bit?
可以說慢一點嗎？
