Coffee Desserts:

 

1. Affogato

Affogato is made by pouring a cup of espresso on top of gelato (Italian ice cream) while the coffee is hot. Chocolate chips and chopped almonds could be added for a richer taste.

 

2. Coffee panna cotta

Panna cotta is a classic dessert in Italy. It is made with coffee powder, milk, cream, sugar, and gelatine.

 

3. Tiramisu

The bottom of tiramisu is made with ladyfingers dipped in coffee or rum, and layered with a mixture of mascarpone cheese, sugar, and egg yolk, finally flavoured with cocoa powder.

 

Types of milk:

 

1. Whole-fat milk

 

2. Skimmed milk

 

3. Half and half (half whole-fat milk and half cream)

 

4. Plant-based milk

For example, oat milk, hazelnut milk, coconut milk.

 

 

Lastly, the barista may ask ‘would you like some room in your coffee?’, it means would you like to have a full cup of coffee. The barista started to ask this question as customers may be afraid of spilling the coffee, or they would like to add extra cream on top of their coffee. Therefore, you can answer with:

 

Situation 1: If you don’t want a full cup of coffee, then you can answer ‘with room please’ or ‘I would like… with room please’.

 

Situation 2: If you do want a full cup of coffee, then you can answer ‘I would like…. with no room please’.
