每次一嚟到IELTS Writing Task 1 ，大多數考生係introduction第一句都係“the graph shows…”，毫無新意，考官見到都自然唔會比高分啦。考IELTS最重要嘅技巧就係活用synonyms，咁我哋可以點樣用同義詞去代替“the graph shows”呢？就等Wall Street English提供啲例子比大家參考下啦！

首先第一件事情就是要判斷圖表的屬性，一起來辨別一下IELTS常見圖表種類吧！

  • Chart 統計圖標
  • Diagram 圖解；示意圖
  • Graph 數據圖表
  • Table 表格
  • Map 地圖

 

2. Synonyms of “show”

以下是一些可以用來代替“show”的同義詞，但每個字詞都有些微的差別，所以用的時候要小心。

  • Describe 描述；描繪
  • Illustrate 説明
  • Depict 描繪
  • Exhibit 展示
  • Display 陳列
  • Indicate 標示；顯示
  • Convey 表達；傳達
  • Present 展現

 

3. Paraphrase

除了“the graph shows”以外，也可以用其他方式去表達，例如是：

  • According to the graph, …
  • 根據圖表，…
  • As can be seen from the graph, …
  • 從圖中可以看出，…
  • As shown in the graph, …
  • 如圖所示，…
  • It is clearly shown from the graph that …
  • 從圖中可以清楚地看出……
  • From the graph, it is obvious that …
