相信一講起 “重要的”，大家第一個諗到嘅英文字一定係 “important”。所以一到DSE writing，就會經常見到 “important” 嘅出現。不過如果成篇文都係用 “important”，就會令文章枯燥無味， marker都唔會想繼續睇落去啦。咁仲可以點樣表達“重要的”呢？等Wall Street English帶大家一齊睇下啦！ 

 

1. Paramount / …of paramount importance. 

  • Education must be seen as paramount. / Education is of paramount importance. 
  • 教育必須被視為最重要的。 / 教育至關重要。 

 

2. Essential  

  • Exercise forms an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. 
  • 運動是健康生活方式的重要組成部分。 

 

3. Vital 

  • Friendship plays a vital part in our lives.  
  • 友誼在我們的生活中起著至關重要的作用。 

 

4. Crucial  

  • Marketing plays a crucial role in contributing to the success of the new product.  
  • 營銷在促進新產品成功方面起著至關重要的作用。 

 

5. Prime  

  • Increasing awareness is the prime objective of the company now.  
  • 提高知名度是公司現在的首要目標。 

 

6. Dominant 

  • She was a dominant figure in the Hong Kong film industry.  
  • 她是香港電影界的主要人物。
     

7. Fundamental  

  • His hard work is the fundamental cause of his success.  
  • 他的努力是他成功的根本原因。 

 

8. Cardinal  

  • The speaker mentioned the cardinal importance of education in his speech.  
  • 演講者在在他的演講中提到了教育的重要性。 

 

9. Salient  

  • The chairperson began to summarize the salient points of today’s meeting.  
  • 主席開始總結今天會議的要點。 

 

10. Overriding  

  • The overriding concern of the company is to find a new supplier.  
  • 公司最關心的是尋找新的供應商。 

 

 

雖然以上嘅字都有”重要的“嘅意思，不過都係有些微嘅差別，所以用嘅時候記住要小心啲呀！
