Hi there! I am Tim, from Wall Street English. Today I am going to talk about some commonly mispronounced words.

The first pair of words are: Picture and Pitcher

Picture – A picture is what we take with our cameras and mobile phones. Excuse me, Could you please take a picture for me?

Pitcher – A pitcher is a container which we use to pour water or other drinks when serving many people.

The second pair of words are: Often and Oven

Often is an adverb we use to talk about things that happen quite frequently. I often join Social Clubs on the weekends.

An oven is what we use to bake cakes and bread. Can you please take the cake out of the oven?

The third pair of words are: Suit and Suite

A suit is what we wear for formal occasions.  I suggest wearing a nice suit for your interview.

A suite is a series of rooms designated for a person, a family, or particular purpose. It also has the same pronunciation as the Sweets we eat without an ’s’ at the end.

The words we practiced today are:

Picture and Pitcher

Often and Oven

Suit and Suite

I hope you found this useful and of course, have a great day.
