Egg 蛋
1. Put all your eggs in one basket
e.g. There’s a lesson that comes out of it – don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
2. Walk on eggs/ eggshells
“To walk on eggs/ eggshells”
e.g. I was walking on eggshells trying to explain the report to my boss.
3. Egg (someone) on 慫恿(某人)
e.g. Mary was egged on into making this mistake.
Rabbit
4. Pull a rabbit out of a hat
e.g. It’s difficult for ABC Company to survive, unless its management pulls a rabbit out of its hat.
5. Rabbit caught in the headlights
e.g. Each time the teacher asked Mary a question, she was like a rabbit caught in the headlights.
