Hi, I’m Penny from Wall Street English. Today we’re going to look at ways of accepting thanks.

Whenever someone says “Thank you” most of us reply “You’re welcome” but there are other ways to accept thanks too.

If someone says thanks to you and you want to reply in a polite way, you can say “No problem”, “don’t mention it” or “Not at all”.

If someone is saying thank you for helping them and you were happy to help, you can say “It’s my pleasure”.

If someone is saying thank you to you for doing something for them and helping them did not cause you any trouble, you can say “It’s no bother”.

So besides “you’re welcome”, you can say :

No problem

Don’t mention it

Not at all

It’s my pleasure

It’s no bother

That’s all for today! Thanks for joining me!
